Our Story

Akumu Ink is a Montreal based t-shirt company that launched in the beginning of 2008 by Joey and Dora. Our style is heavily inspired by everything coming out of Japan from its cute pop icons to its terrifying horror movies.

The name Akumu is Japanese for Nightmare. We love the concept of creating hand drawn images based on our nightmares. We focus our theme around darker subject matter even when sometimes it's done with a cute twist.

We create all our designs by hand, and silkscreen them onto quality American Apparel tshirts,
v-necks, and hoodies custom to your order. For an extra fee we can even print on custom items or colours.

In 2009 we attended 11 tattoo and anime conventions across North America including New York and Las Vegas. You can also find us in stores around North America and Europe. Joey even quit his day job to work on Akumu Ink fulltime.
